Youths main driving force of digital transformation: Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb

DHAKA, July 26, 2025 (BSS) - Faiz Ahmed Taiyeb, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser at the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, today said the youth, who make up 60 percent of Bangladesh's population, are the primary driving force behind the country's digital transformation.

"The government is implementing long-term plans in the ICT sector to make this human resource skilled and productive," Taiyeb said while presenting a paper titled Bangladesh's Growing Potential and Investment Environment in the Global Digital Economy at the L3AD.net Digital Innovation Summit 2025, held at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital.

Highlighting Bangladesh's progress, he spoke on key initiatives such as ICT infrastructure development, startup investment, cybersecurity, and forthcoming national policies on artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and blockchain.

Taiyeb announced the government's plan to establish 10 innovation hubs in partnership with 10 universities across the country. 

He also disclosed a new initiative aimed at digitizing Bangladesh's literary and cultural heritage, to bolster the development of AI-based Bengali language models.

Calling for collaboration, he urged leading institutions, researchers, and technology entrepreneurs to actively contribute to the upcoming national policy formulation process.

"A collective effort is needed to shape the future of a smart, inclusive, and innovative Bangladesh," he said.

The summit was attended by key figures in the digital and tech sectors, including BIMRAD Director General Commodore Syed Misbah Uddin Ahmed, BluePie Solutions CEO Akhtar Uzzaman, Bangladesh Satellite Company Limited MD and CEO Imadur Rahman, Logging-in.com Program Manager Md. Farhad Kabir, and Thriving Skitish Founder and CEO Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud, among others.
