DNCC Administrator inaugurates Chamurkhan graveyard

DHAKA, July 27, 2025(BSS) – Administrator of the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mohammad Azaz today inaugurated the Chamurkhan Graveyard at ward number- 44 of the corporation.

The Chamurkhan Graveyard has been developed and renovated on 64 decimal of land at a cost of Taka over 3.43 crore from the own fund of the DNCC.

There was no graveyard in the newly developed five zones under the DNCC since 2016 and the authority took initiative to develop the Chamurkhan Graveyard to meet up the demand of the citizens.

There are 484 graves in the graveyard and it has opened for the deceased Muslims from today.

We have laid special emphasis on the development of 18 wards including Uttar Khan and Dakkhin Khan area and special allocation has been made for ensuring civic rights of the people of these areas, DNCC Administration said. 

On behalf of local people, Mujibar Rahman addressed the inaugural function where he demanded construction of roads, culverts and drains of the area.

Chaired by Chief Executive Officer of the DNCC Muhammad Asaduzzaman, the function was addressed, among others, by Chief Engineer of the corporation Brigadier General Md Moin Uddin and its Chief Health Officer Brigadier General Imrul Kayes Chowdhury. 

The DNCC Administrator later inspected the re-digging and cleanliness drive at Senti Khal and Sutibhola khal.
