KHULNA, July 27, 2025 (BSS) – Academic classes of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET) will resume from July 29 after about five months.

The newly appointed Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Md. Maksud Helali announced the decision today following meetings with teachers and student representatives, officials said.

The VC urged students to return to their dormitories and respective residences before Tuesday.

Dr. Maksud Helali was appointed as VC of KUET on July 24 and formally assumed office on Friday.

KUET has been in a state of stalemate since February 18 after a clashe between general students and outsiders, leaving many students injured.

In response, the administration initially suspended classes and asked for vacating the student dormitories.
