Milestone tragedy, another child dies

DHAKA, July 28, 2025 (BSS) - Another child undergoing treatment at the burn institute died in the Air Force fighter jet crash at Milestone School and College at Uttara.

A 14-year-old child Sahil Farabi Ayan succumbed to his burn injuries at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery (NIBPS) at 1:45 am today. 

NIBPS Resident Surgeon Dr. Shawon Bin Rahman confirmed the death, saying, "Ayan had 40 percent burns."

Ayan's parents are Mohammad Ali Masud and Tamanna Manjur. They reside at 533/1 Madhya Manipur Mirpur.

With the death of Ayan, 18 people have so far died at the Burn Institute.

According to the Health Ministry, 34 people have died from the July 21 jet crash tragedy.

Currently, 33 survivors, including 27 children, are undergoing treatment at the NIPBS. Three of them are in critical condition and are being treated in the ICU.
