KHULNA, July 28, 2025 (BSS) - A new Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH) was inaugurated at Campus-1 of Khulna Agricultural University (KAU) in Madhyapara, Daulatpur.

KAU Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Nazmul Ahsan formally inaugurated the facility on Sunday.

The hospital is designed to offer hands-on training for students and deliver quality veterinary care to local farmers and marginalized livestock owners.

It will operate daily from 9am to 5pm, excluding Fridays, Saturdays, and public holidays.

The VTH includes dedicated units for Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, along with an Operating Theater and Diagnostic Laboratory.

It will provide diagnosis and treatment for a range of animals and birds, including cows, goats, sheep, ducks, chickens, dogs, and cats, handled by experienced veterinarians.

Teachers, students, and administrative staff from various departments attended the inauguration. A seminar was also held, featuring experience sharing and distribution of internship certificates.

In his keynote address, Prof. Ahsan highlighted the hospital's dual role: to produce skilled veterinary graduates through practical exposure and to meet the veterinary needs of farmers in Khulna and surrounding areas.
