RAJSHAHI, July 28, 2025 (BSS)- The election of the Rajshahi University Central Students Union (RUCSU) will be held on September 15, 2025.

Seven-member commission to the RUCSU election led by Chief Election Commissioner Prof Amzad Hossain announced the schedule today.

According to the schedule, the election code of conduct will be announced on July 31, while the draft voters list will be published on August 6.

Objections on the voter list will be received and resolved on August 7, 10, 11 and 12. Final voter list will be published on August 14.

Nomination papers will be distributed from August 17 to 19 and date for submission of the nomination paper on August 21, 24 and 25. Scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held from August 27 and 28.

Primary list of the candidates will be published on August 31, while September 2 has been set for withdrawal of nomination papers. Final list of the candidates will be published on September 4.

Polling will be held in all residential halls simultaneously on September 15.

Other commissioners Prof Nizam Uddin, Prof Nazrul Islam, Prof Enamul Haque, Prof Abdul Hannan, Prof Aminul Haque and Prof Mostofa Kamal Akanda were present on the occasion.

RUCSU constitution has provision for holding the student union polls every year. But the process was interrupted in different time due to various reasons, mostly country’s political situation. Last RUCSU election was held in the academic year 1989-90.
  
Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) candidate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed and JSD Chhatra League candidate Ruhul Kuddus Babu were elected as Vice-president (VP) and General Secretary (GS) respectively in that election.
