DHAKA, July 28, 2025 (BSS) - A five-member probe committee has been formed to
investigate the sudden activation of the fire alarm system at the Foreign
Service Academy during today's political dialogue.

The committee, headed by the Director of the Foreign Service Academy,
includes representatives from the Fire Service and Civil Defence Department
and the Public Works Department. It has been directed to submit its findings
within 24 hours.

According to an official press release, the incident occurred around 12:20 PM
when the fire alarm system, installed as part of the academy's fire safety
mechanism, was unexpectedly triggered during the ongoing dialogue between
political parties and the National Consensus Commission.

Academy staff responded immediately, inspecting the facility to identify the
source of the alarm. Preliminary checks found no evidence of fire or smoke.

To ensure comprehensive safety and prevent future occurrences, authorities
decided to launch a detailed investigation into the matter, said the release.
