‘July Centre’ inaugurated at Dhaka University

DHAKA, July 28, 2025 (BSS) - To commemorate the historic July Mass Uprising, the ‘July Centre’ has been inaugurated at the July Shaheed Smriti Bhaban of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall of Dhaka University today.
 
Dhaka University’s Pro-Vice Chancellor (Education), Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed opened the ‘July Centre’ as the chief guest.
 
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall Provost Professor Dr. Md. Akhtaruzzaman chaired the event and Associate Professor Dr. Khorshed Alam moderated the program.
 
Speaking as the chief guest, Dr. Mamun said, “July Revolution of 2024 was not merely a student protest rather it was the resurgence of a national conscience. Dhaka University was not only the epicentre of this awakening; it was the driving force.”
 
“Our classrooms became battlegrounds for ideas, and our campus transformed into a fortress of justice,” he added, calling upon all to ensure the continued resonance of the spirit of July.
 
Faculty members, students, officers, and staffs of the hall participated in the event.
 
Before the inauguration, a documentary was screened as part of the event.
