DHAKA, July 28, 2025 (BSS) - A decision has been taken to upgrade the salary scale of 45 government primary school principals from the existing 11th to the 10th grade following a recent order of the Supreme Court.

The government decided to upgrade the salary scale of 65,502 (sixty-five thousand five hundred two) head teachers across the country from the existing 11th grade (trained) and 12th grade (untrained) to the 10th grade, said a press release of the Primary and Mass Education Ministry.

As a result of the decision, the long-awaited expectations of primary school principals have been fulfilled, said the release adding the initiative will ensure the financial security of primary school principals and consolidate their social status.

As a result, they will play a more creative and enthusiastic role in improving the quality of primary education. This will ensure a more advanced and dynamic education system for primary school students.

The government expects that the head teachers of government primary schools, with the help of other teachers, guardians and stakeholders at all levels, will improve the quality of primary education to the desired level.
