July Charter must be implemented by 5 August: Nahid

MYMENSINGH, July 28, 2025 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam has said July Charter and July Declaration must be implemented by August 5.

“Institutional reforms are essential to build the desired Bangladesh. The main goal of the NCP is to establish a neutral administration and judiciary, including the formation of a constitutional committee to form an impartial Election Commission, Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) and PSC,” he said.

He made the remarks while addressing a rally in front of Shaheed Minar at Town Hall area of the district here today.

Nahid said, “We have not yet achieved the desired Bangladesh. If the people of Mymensingh remain with us, then we will be able to build desired Bangladesh soon. The reform process has begun in the country. The consensus commission has said that the July Charter will be adopted.” 

“July Charter must be adopted by August 5. We will unite and implement this Charter as soon as possible,” Nahid said.

The NCP convener said, a free Bangladesh is not possible without electoral reforms.

NCP Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, NCP southern region chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah, Joint Conveners Tasnim Zara and Samanta Sharmin, among others, addressed the rally.
