NARAYANGANJ, July 29, 2025 (BSS) - A mobile court in a drive on Monday disconnected about 6.5 kilometres of illegal gas distribution lines at four spots and about 2,000 illegal residential burners were removed in Baylar and Nayapur areas of Sonargaon upazila in Narayanganj.

During the drive, 335 feet of pipes used for illegal connections were removed and the pipes were destroyed at the source, a handout said today.

During this, each illegal distribution line was completely closed by 'killing and capping' from the source point.

The Executive Magistrate of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division led the drive. Such drives will prevent wastage of gas and will also help reduce accidents and risks to public life caused by illegal gas connections.
