DHAKA, July 29, 2025 (BSS) - Information and Broadcasting Adviser Md Mahfuz Alam today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Peer Shah Muhammad Ahsanuzzaman of Mashurikhola Darbar, one of the oldest Sufi Markazes in Dhaka.

In a message of condolence, the Adviser said Peer Shah Muhammad Ahsanuzzaman established 15 madrasahs across the country, including Dhaka. He used to extend helping hands to families affected by natural disasters like floods, tidal waves, and landslides in the country, he added.

Mahfuj said Pir Shah Muhammad Ahsanuzzaman's active life will serve as an inspiration for all. He has set an example in the Sufi community of Bangladesh by dedicating himself to the Silsila.

The adviser prayed that his successors may take the Silsila forward on the path shown by him.

Mahfuj prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.

Peer Maulana Shah Muhammad Ahsanuzzaman passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital today.

Shah Muhammad Ahsanuzzaman, the grandson of Shah Muhammad Ahsanullah, the founder of Mashurikhola Darbar, was born on February 28, 1952.

He completed his formal education from the traditional Madrasa-e Alia in Dhaka and took charge of the Darbar in 1972. After taking charge, he has taken many initiatives to make the Darbar more public-friendly by making it modern.
