DHAKA, Aug 3, 2025 (BSS) - Speakers at an event organized in the capital’s Biswo Sahitya Kendra here today said poet Monija Rahman depicts nature and life in her poetry as deep stories of people from all walks of life are portrayed in her writings smoothly.

Jaladhi organized the event titled Jaladhi-Sandhya where writers and poets discussed on “Ek Pasla Brishti Kenar Age”, a collection of poems by poet Monija Rahman.

Poet Monija Rahman joined the event as the chief guest while Jaladhi publisher and Editor Nahid Ashraf, poet Nasir Ahmed, writers Dilara Mesbah and Sirajul Islam were present.

The speakers said Monija Rahman has been discovering the truth by peeking into the windows of society in various dimensions, sometimes in stories, sometimes in poems and sometimes in novels.

Monija Rahman was born in her maternal home in Tirojpur, Barisal.

Her entire childhood, adolescence and youth were spent in Gandaria in Old Dhaka. After doing her Masters in Economics from Dhaka University, she has chosen sports journalism as her profession. She is the country's first professional female sports journalist and sports editor.
