DHAKA, Aug 5, 2025 (BSS) - The United Kingdom (UK) has invited applications for the prestigious Chevening Scholarships for the 2026 academic year, offering fully funded opportunities for future leaders to pursue one-year master's degrees at renowned UK universities.

Applications opened on August 5 and will remain open until October 7, 2025.

"The Chevening Scholarship programme continues to empower Bangladesh's brightest minds, fostering leadership and innovation," said British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke in a statement today.

"We are proud to support these talented individuals as they pursue world-class education in the UK, building bridges for a stronger, more connected future," she added.

According to a media release issued by the British High Commission, more than 372 Bangladeshis have received Chevening Scholarships since the programme's inception in 1983, underscoring the UK's longstanding commitment to nurturing the next generation of global leaders.

Administered by the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), Chevening Scholarships are awarded to individuals who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential, academic excellence, and a commitment to creating positive change in their communities and beyond.

The programme receives tens of thousands of applications globally each year and is highly competitive. Ideal candidates must present compelling, evidence-based examples of their leadership, networking abilities, and influence.

The UK government encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds, including professionals, academics, public servants, journalists, and entrepreneurs, to apply and become part of the Chevening global alumni network.

Further details and application guidelines are available on the official Chevening website.
