DHAKA, Aug 6, 2025 (BSS) – Environment, Forest and Climate Change Adviser Syeda Rizwana Hasan today described the country under Sheikh Hasina’s leadership as a ‘prison’ where citizens were unable to speak freely or think independently.

The adviser made the remarks during a programme titled ‘Reminiscence of July Prisoners’ held at the Abdul Karim Sahitya Bisharad Auditorium of Bangla Academy here this afternoon.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs.

Reflecting on the role of students in the nation’s struggle, Rizwana said, “When students witnessed their friends dying, they took to the streets selflessly.
