Incessant rains leave Ctg roads under water

CHATTOGRAM, Aug 07, 2025 (BSS)- Incessant rains for several days has caused serious water logging in different parts of the city and leaving many city roads under water.

A busy city road from Sholashahar to Oxygen completely went under water due to heavy rain leading to traffic blockage on one side of the two lane road and resulting in long traffic jams in the area.


Water flow on the road led to collapse of a bridge on the road resulting the important thoroughfare keep off-limit for traffic.

A member of on duty police team said the road has cracked at several places and is flooded. Local people are trying to protect the road with bamboo fences and felling trunks of trees.

According to Ambagan met office 81 millimeter rain has been recorded in the last 24 hours till 9 am today while from 6 am to 9 am 24 millimeters of rain was recorded. 

Office goers suffered most for water logging due to the rain as crisis for public transport intensified.
