KHULNA, Aug 7, 2025 (BSS) - Four new buildings of the oldest traditional Kapilmuni Zafar Aulia Fazil Degree Madrasa in Paikgachha upazila of Khulna district was inaugurated this afternoon.

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) chairman and Joint Editor of Dainik Ittefaq Anwar Aldin inaugurated the new structures by cutting a ribbon and unveiling the plaques as the chief guest.

Upon reaching the madrasa premises, the students welcomed Anwar Aldin with flowers. Later, he cut the ribbon and unveiled the plaques and inaugurated the madrasa building.

Speaking on the occasion, the BSS chairman said BNP acting Chairman Tarique Rahman presented 31-point outline before the nation.

The 31-point outline has given a detailed explanation on how the education system will be, how the quality of education will be improved, and how primary education will be evaluated to build an educated nation at the primary level, he said.

He urged the scholars to come forward against the inconsistencies and wrong fotwas of the society.

I have always worked with scholars in Islamic education and will continue to do so in the future. If the quality of education improves, it is possible to reach the goal of building an educated nation,  he said.

Anwar Aldin said this madrasa has been spreading the light of religious education among the people of this region for ages.

He said madrasas play a big role in making people religious, idealistic, ethical, and pious in society. In the past 15 years, the Awami League government misled teachers and students by taking control of religious institutions including madrasas, he said adding that the AL regime turned some madrasas into arenas for looting and misdeeds and this madrasa was one of them.

After the mass uprising, the fascist ruler of AL government also fled. Now, it is time to return to the ideal nature of the tradition of madrasa education. Keeping the Tahjib-Tamuddun, fundamentalism of Islam intact, we must move forward with time,  he said.

Acting Principal Jamirul Islam presided over the programme while Assistant Commissioner (Land) Iftekharul Islam Shamim, Paikgachha Upazila BNP convener Dr. Abdul Majid, journalist and human rights activist Parvez Mohammad, Jamaat leader Abul Kashem, Upazila BNP joint convener Touhiduzzaman Mukul, joint convener Abul Hossain, member Tushar Kanti Mondal, former vice-president of the District Swechchhasebak Dal Sheikh Abdul Quader.
