CHATTOGRAM, Aug 8, 2025 (BSS) - Industries, Housing and Public Works Adviser Adilur Rahman Khan today said the nation must forever remember those who sacrificed their lives during the July Uprising.

"Bangladesh achieved independence for the second time because of their supreme sacrifice. No matter who comes to power in the future, their contribution must be acknowledged," he told journalists after visiting the July Smriti Udyan in the city's Panchlaish area this morning.

The government is considering to construct a monument in the park.

"We plan to design and install it very soon, subject to the approval of the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, to preserve the memory of the martyrs," he said.

Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam, senior officials of the Public Works Department in Chattogram, and journalists from both print and electronic media were present.
