DHAKA, Aug 8, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Mohammad Azaz today emphasized that active participation and collective efforts are essential to building an equitable and livable city.

"We will be able to build an equitable, inclusive and habitable city if all citizens, irrespective of political affiliations, work together," he said while distributing prizes among the winners of the 'Run for Fair City' marathon in the city's Agargaon area as the chief guest.

Non-government organization 'Brighters' and the DNCC jointly organized the marathon, where over 500 youths took part. Through the event, messages promoting an equitable, humanitarian and environment-friendly city were disseminated among the youths.

The DNCC Administrator said that youth participation is very significant for building an equitable city. The role of the youth community in building an equitable, environment-friendly and humane city is very crucial, he added.

He said the DNCC has already undertaken many multidimensional plans to ensure environmental equitability and to expand public and green spaces in the city.

The 'Run for Fair City' marathon was held in two separate groups - one for five kilometers and the other for seven kilometers. One sapling was planted for every registration, symbolizing the commitment to building a green city.
