BSF pushes 18 persons into Bangladesh

NAOGAON, Aug 8, 2025 (BSS) - The Indian Border Security Force (BSF) has pushed a total of 18 people, including females and children, into Bangladesh through different border points here in the early hours of today.

Of them, 14 people - including six females, a teenager, three children, and four youths - were pushed into Bangladesh at around 3 am through the Dhamirhat Kalupara border.

Patrol Commander of BOP Dhamirhat Kalupara under Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) 14, Rupan Chakma, said the BGB team detained them after they entered the territory of Bangladesh.

The arrestees are: Badsha Mia, 20; Imran Gazi, 34; Nazmul Hasan, 24; Suma, 4; Raihan, 4; Nupur, 22; Ashika, 4; Munia, 18; Rakeya, 28; Babu, 17; Priya, 26; Fatema, 7; Babita, 35; and Duli, 40.

Officer-in-Charge of Dhamirhat Police Station Imam Zafar said that legal procedures will begin after they are received from BGB custody.

Besides, the BSF pushed in four individuals - two females and two children - through the Bamanpara border of Sapahar Police Station early today, and BGB members on patrol duty detained them inside Bangladesh territory.

The arrestees are: Hena Khatun, 38; Rupali Khatun, 35; Chadni, 8; and Ramjan, 2.

The BGB team also handed them over to Sapahar Police Station.

Officer-in-Charge of Sapahar Police Station Abdul Aziz said that legal procedures are underway against them.
