DHAKA, August 9, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the party's acting chairman Tarique Rahman is the future Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

"Tarique Rahman is our future Prime Minister," he said at the national conference of the Doctors' Association of Bangladesh (DAB) at Willes Little Flower School and College in the city.

BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman was present as the chief guest at the programme.

DAB President Professor Dr. Harun Al Rashid presided over the event, and National University Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Md. Lutfor Rahman conducted it.

Mirza Fakhrul said it is not just about establishing a democratic system or voting rights; all rights, including food and healthcare, must be ensured. He praised Bangladeshi doctors as among the best in the subcontinent but identified systemic issues as the problem, saying, "The culture of mutual animosity has destroyed us."

The BNP Secretary General also called for an end to slogan-based politics.

Mirza Fakhrul added that they must break free from the culture of mutual hatred, which he believes has been destructive.

He also mentioned that the 31-point plan put forward by Tarique Rahman has the potential to bring about revolutionary changes in the country's healthcare sector and other areas.

Describing the role of DAB as crucial, Mirza Fakhrul said, "Your responsibility is immense. On one hand, you have to serve the people, and on the other, you must build the country's future. You must assist political figures in formulating health policies."
