Three dengue patients die, 325 hospitalized in last 24 hrs

DHAKA, Aug 9, 2025 (BSS) - Three people died from dengue and 325 others were hospitalized across the country in the last 24 hours till this morning.

According to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), during the period, 66 patients were hospitalized in Barishal division, 54 in Chattogram, 49 in Dhaka division, 33 in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), 62 in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), 14 in Khulna, six in Mymensingh, and 41 patients were admitted to different hospitals in Rajshahi division.

With the new cases, the total number of dengue infections this year rose to 23,735, while the death toll reached 98.

In the last 24 hours, 306 patients were released from hospitals across the country after receiving treatment.

Last year, the country reported 1,01,214 dengue cases and 575 deaths, the DGHS statement added.
