DHAKA, Aug 9, 2025 (BSS) - A nine-member specialist UK Emergency Medical Team (UK EMT) has arrived in Bangladesh to provide advanced medical care to the victims of the July 21 aircraft crash at the Milestone School compound in the capital's Diabari area.

According to the British High Commission in Dhaka, the team includes experienced clinical professionals such as intensive care physicians, infectious disease experts, rehabilitation specialists, and infection prevention and control nurses.

Over the next three weeks, the UK EMT will collaborate with Bangladeshi medical professionals to deliver critical care and rehabilitation support to injured students currently receiving treatment at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.

British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke expressed the UK's solidarity with the victims and their families.

"The UK stands in solidarity with those affected by this tragic incident and wishes to extend its support. I am confident that the expertise of the UK medical team will contribute to the healing and rehabilitation of the injured students," she said.

The crash on July 21, which occurred during a routine air force training drill, resulted in several fatalities and left dozens of students injured when a fighter jet crashed into the school premises.
