DHAKA, Aug 18, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has formed a 16-member “National Celebration” committee to observe the party’s 47th founding anniversary.

BNP national standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan has been made the convener of the “National Celebration” committee while Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed will act as its member secretary, said a statement signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed.

Other members of the committee include BNP Joint Secretary Generals Khairul Kabir Khokon, Habib Un-Nabi- Khan Sohel, Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anne, Abdus Salam Azad, and Syed Emran Saleh Prince.

The other members of the committee include BNP organizing secretaries: Sayedul Alam Babul (Dhaka Division), Mahbuber Rahman Shamim (Chattogram Division), Shaheen Shawkat (Rajshahi Division), Anindya Islam Amit (Khulna Division), Asadul Habib Dulu (Rangpur Division), GK Gaus (Sylhet Division), Principal Selim Bhuiyan (Cumilla Division), Shariful Alam (Mymensingh Division), and Shama Obaid (Faridpur Division).

BNP will celebrate its 47th founding anniversary on September 1. The party was founded on this day in 1978 by Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, who was also its founding chairman.
