DHAKA, Aug 19, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said elections are the only solution to all ongoing crises.
"There is no alternative to national elections for political and economic freedom. Those who do not want elections without reforms, are pursuing is their party decisions," he told reporters at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport after returning from Thailand.
He went to Thailand for treatment purposes.
Mirza Fakhrul said that the people of the country are not used to elections through PR methods. Therefore, the BNP wants elections through direct voting.
Regarding the DUCSU elections, he hoped that the polls will be held fairly and peacefully with the participation of all.
