Mohakhali Sat Tala slum fire under complete control

DHAKA, Aug 20, 2025 (BSS) - The fire that broke out in the capital's Mohakhali Sat Tala slum this afternoon was brought under complete control.
 
The fire erupted at the slum around 14:37 pm today, Anwarul Islam, media officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence told BSS.
 
Five firefighting units rushed to the spot at 3pm and brought the blaze under complete control within one and a half hour of intense efforts around 04:35 pm today, he said.
 
The extent of damage and cause behind the fire could not be known immediately.
 
No reports of casualties have so far been received, Islam said.
