Titas disconnects illegal gas connections in Munshiganj, Gazipur

DHAKA, August 20, 2025(BSS) - The Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company has conducted drives in Munshiganj and Gazipur yesterday (Tuesday) for disconnecting illegal connections and realized fines.

The company, during the drives led by executive magistrates, disconnected huge illegal gas connections and realized the fines from the areas concerned, an official release said here today.

A team of Titas conducted a drive at Jamaldi area under Gazaria upazila of Munshiganj district and disconnected illegal connections from a marble factory, three restaurants and a bakery and removed 60 feet illegal pipe lines. The team realized fines worth about Taka 1,10,000 from the owners and filed three cases in these connections.

The team saved around 2,82,285 cubic feet gas worth about Taka 2,40,000 per month.  

Another mobile court led by another executive magistrate disconnected illegal gas connections of 70 residential houses and removed 300 feet gas pipe line at Teknagpara and Telipara areas under Bason Thana of Gazipur district. Through this operation, Tatas can save gas worth about Taka 75,600 per month. 

Similar drives would also be continued in future that will stop wastage of gas and help ensure smooth supply of it to the legitimate subscribers.
