Adviser Asif Mahmud pays tribute to martyr Abu Sayeed

RANGPUR, Aug 20, 2025 (BSS) - Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan paid tribute to martyr Abu Sayeed at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) campus today.

He paid tribute by placing a wreath at the 'Shaheed Abu Sayeed Memorial' in memory of Shaheed Abu Sayeed, a student of the English Department of BRUR who embraced martyrdom in police firing on July 16 last year during the July Uprising.

Upon reaching the campus in the afternoon, BRUR Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Showkat Ali welcomed Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan, also the Adviser to the Ministry of Youth and Sports, in the presence of the university's teachers and students.

After paying tribute to martyr Abu Sayeed, Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan exchanged greetings with the Vice-Chancellor and students of the university.

At this time, the students sought necessary cooperation from Adviser Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan in providing indoor and outdoor stadiums at the university and two buses to solve the transportation problem.

Later, the Adviser spoke to journalists on various issues there.

At this time, the university's Registrar Dr Md Harun-or-Rashid, Rangpur Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rabiul Faisal, along with senior administration officials and relevant persons, were present.
