NDC's disaster recovery centre expansion announced in Jashore

JASHORE, August 20, 2025 (BSS) — Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser for the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb has announced that the National Data Centre (NDC) and its Disaster Recovery Centre in Jashore are set for expansion within next six months.

He came up with the announcement during an inspection today.

In his visit, Faiz reviewed operations at the Bangladesh Computer Council’s NDC, Disaster Recovery Centre and Jashore Software Technology Park. 

He gave directives on improving the facilities’ design, performance and operational standards.
 
During his visit, he proposed using the park’s underutilized spaces to build a local start-up ecosystem by organizing science fairs, hackathons and awareness seminars on cyber security and digital literacy. 
He called for student engagement from local schools and colleges to strengthen grassroots innovation.

Jashore Deputy Commissioner Md Azaharul Islam was tasked with overall supervision while Superintendent of Police Rawnak Jahan pledged to ensure the park’s security. 

Faiz also inspected operations of Sheba.XYZ and Chaldal.com at the tech park.
