DHAKA, Aug 21, 2025 (BSS) – The Office of the High Representative for the Rohingya Issue and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will jointly organize a three-day “Stakeholders’ Dialogue” on the Rohingya crisis in Cox’s Bazar from August 24 to 26.
The event, titled “Stakeholders’ Dialogue: Takeaway to the High-Level Conference on the Rohingya Situation,” is designed as a preparatory platform for the High-Level Conference on the Rohingya Crisis scheduled to take place in New York on September 30, on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly.
Chief Adviser Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus will grace the Dialogue as the Chief Guest on August 25, said a press release issued by the foreign ministry here this evening.
Experts from home and abroad, diplomats, representatives of the Rohingya community, international organizations and academicians are expected to take part in the event.
They will share perspectives and put forward recommendations to address the ongoing crisis.
According to the foreign ministry, the Dialogue will particularly highlight the voices of Rohingya men, women and youth, giving the international community an opportunity to hear directly about their aspirations and expectations.
Discussions will cover critical aspects of the crisis including humanitarian assistance, funding gaps in the camps, recent developments in Rakhine State, confidence-building measures for repatriation, accountability for atrocities, and pathways towards a sustainable and time-bound solution.
The programme will feature five thematic sessions focusing on humanitarian support, repatriation, justice and accountability, and long-term actionable strategies for resolving the crisis.
Participants are also scheduled to visit the Rohingya camps on August 26 to gain firsthand insights into the situation.
The Dialogue aims to produce concrete recommendations that will serve as the key takeaway for the upcoming High-Level Conference in New York, said the release.
