KHAGRACHARI, Aug 22, 2025 (BSS) - Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma today called upon everyone to be inspired by patriotism and human welfare and to actively engage in virtuous deeds.

He made this call at the religious ceremony in observance of the weekly rites for Babu Padmaranjan Chakma in the Mahajanpara of the district.

In his address, he said "Birth, death and the result of works reflect the spiritual evolution of a person. Those who performed virtuous deeds in their past lives retain their merit in their next birth as well. If the results of their actions are good, their rebirth is also auspicious and through virtuous deeds, attaining nirvana becomes possible."

The ceremony featured various acts of religious donation for the peace and welfare of the departed soul.

Nipun Chakma, son of the late Padmaranjan Chakma, delivered a heartfelt tribute to his father and conducted the ceremony.

Distinguished monks and religious figures, including Principal Indra Gupta Mahasthavir of Katachari Bonbihar, Ananda Mitra Mahasthavir, Bimalananda Mahasthavir of Maitripura Aranya Kutir and Arya Bodhi Mahasthavir of Aryapur Bonbihar, among others, were present.
