Signal no 1 issued for river ports

DHAKA, August 23, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued Signal No. 1 for the country's inland river ports, effective from 10 am to 6 pm today.


According to the special weather bulletin, temporary gusty or squally winds at speeds of 45 to 60 km per hour from the south or southeast, accompanied by rain or thundershowers, may sweep over the regions of Faridpur, Madaripur, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox's Bazar.


River ports in these areas have been asked to hoist warning signal number 1, it added.
