DHAKA, Aug 23, 2025 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC)'s preparations are underway to announce the roadmap for holding the 13th parliamentary elections before Ramadan in the first half of February next year.

Senior Secretary of the EC, Akhtar Ahmed, will brief the media on the finalized action plan tomorrow, which was discussed in a high-level meeting on Thursday at the Election Commission Building at Agargaon. 

The meeting was attended by Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd.) Abul Fazal Md Sanaullah, other commissioners and senior secretariat officials.

Commissioner Sanaullah confirmed the announcement and reiterated the EC's commitment to ensuring a free, fair, and constitutionally guided election. 

"We are fully prepared for a fair, beautiful and acceptable election," he said.
Earlier on August 18, EC Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed mentioned that the draft roadmap had been prepared and would be submitted to the commission for final approval before being made public.

The roadmap is expected to provide a detailed timeline and operational guidelines for holding the next national elections smoothly and transparently.
