Govt job is meaningless without a service-oriented mindset: Supradip Chakma

DHAKA, Aug 25, 2025 (BSS) - Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma today called upon government officials to embrace a mindset of serving the public.

"We have been appointed to serve the public. Therefore, everyone must always possess a service-oriented mindset," he said.

The adviser was addressing the inaugural session of a day-long training workshop at the seminar room of the CHT Heritage Preservation and Research Centre in the capital's Bailey Road, said a ministry press release.

The workshop was jointly organized by the Ministry of CHT Affairs and a2i, focusing on a needs assessment for implementing a national dashboard.

The adviser emphasized the need to understand modern technology in order to create strategic advantages. "We want to develop the CHT Complex building into an information hub, where individuals from home and abroad can access data about products produced in the hill region," he added.

Mentioning that organic fruits such as mangoes, pineapples, bananas, and dragon fruit are now being produced in larger quantities in the CHT, he said that there are plans to distribute these products nationally and internationally. 
"We want to introduce the chemical-free fruits of the CHT to the international market," he said.

The adviser added that the people of the CHT region wish to be equal stakeholders in the collective mindset and consciousness of the broader national population. "Our heritage, resources, and potential can be part of the country's overall development," he said.

Speaking as the chair, CHT Affairs Secretary Md. Abdul Khaleque said that everything should be within easy access, saying, "The dashboard will help us remain consistently updated on our activities." 

He also emphasized the importance of being well-informed about government service rules and regulations.

Additional Secretary Md. Monirul Islam was present as the special guest at the event, while a2i's Result Management Analyst Md. Anwarul Arif Khan, Data Coordination Officers Md. Ashraful Islam, Rifat-e-Jahan Siddiqui, and Anik Kumar Pal participated as discussants and also conducted the training session.
