Primary students to get new books at beginning of January: Bidhan

DHAKA, Aug 25, 2025(BSS) - Primary and Mass Education Adviser Bidhan Ranjon Ray Podder today said the government would be able to provide new books to primary school students at the beginning of January.

“Tender process for printing the primary school books is on progress…all the books would be handed over to students at the beginning of January,” he told media after visiting the Bairaura government primary school at Netrakona sadar upazila this noon.

The adviser expressed satisfaction over the presence of students at their classrooms and performance of the teachers as well.  

He asked the district and upazila administrations to work with the guardians to increase the presence of the students in the haor regions.

After visiting few schools at Kendua and Sadar upazila, Bidhan Ranjon went to the residence of eminent writer, intellectual and Independence award winner Professor Jatin Sarkar at Satpay area in Netrakona town to join his ‘Shraddhanusthan’ (rituals performed for the deceased). 

He also paid tributes to the legendary writer at that time.

Addressing a function at the residence of Prof Jatin Sarkar, the adviser said that initiatives have been taken to improve the standard of education and making guardians interested to admit their kids at government school.

Among others, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Netrakona Banani Biswas, Police Super Mirza Sayem Mahmud, Planning and Development Officer of the Primary Education Directorate Fazle Elahi and other district level officers were present on the occasion.
