DHAKA, Aug 26, 2025 (BSS) - Social Welfare, Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid today said that the quick response team has been working across the country to prevent violence against women.

“The team introduced by the social welfare ministry has been working throughout the country to prevent such violence,” she said while speaking as the chief guest at a function organized by non-government organization ‘Jago Nari Unnayan Sangstha’ in city’s Gulshan area.

The definition of early marriage has been changed now and the root cause of this is mobile phone, the adviser said, adding that many offences are being committed now taking the advantage of technology. A number of minor girls are being trapped in the name of love due to the misuse of mobile phones, she added.

Sharmeen Murshid said that the guardians have to be more careful regarding the innocent girls to save them from the trap and violence against them.

The adviser urged the educated youths of 22 organizations who have been working jointly to prevent violence against women will be equipped with technology.

Only the personal, social and family consciousness can protect a girl from the violence against them, she added.
