Rain likely in parts of country

DHAKA, Aug 29, 2025 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) forecasted light to moderate rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places in the country over the next 24 hours, beginning at 9:00 am today.

"Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at many places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions and at a few places over Mymensingh, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country," said a BMD bulletin this morning.

Day and night temperatures may fall slightly over the country, the met office predicted.

On Thursday, the highest temperature recorded was 35.3 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi, while the lowest temperature was 23.8 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.

In Dhaka, the sun will set at 6:20 pm today and rise at 5:40 am tomorrow.
