Shipping adviser visits Nur at DMCH

DHAKA, Sept 1, 2025 (BSS) - Shipping Adviser Brigadier General (Retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hossain today visited Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) to inquire about the health condition of Gono Odhikar Parishad president and former DUCSU VP Nurul Haque Nur, who is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

Sakhawat, who also serves as Adviser to the Ministry of Labour and Employment, arrived at the hospital around 10:00 am and talked with the attending physicians regarding the medical status and ongoing treatment of Nurul Haque Nur.

He directed the medical team to ensure comprehensive and advanced care for Nur as well as for other individuals who sustained injuries.

The Adviser assured that all necessary measures will be taken to provide advanced treatment for Nurul Haque Nur and the others injured. 

Expressing deep concern over the heinous attack, the adviser wished Nurul Haque Nur a speedy recovery and condemned the incident. 

He also said that the government will ensure exemplary punishment for those involved in this reprehensible act.

DMCH Director Brigadier General Md. Asaduzzaman informed the adviser that a specialized medical board has already been formed to monitor the treatment of the injured. 

He added that the government is maintaining constant oversight to ensure the highest standard of modern and quality medical services.
