DHAKA, Sept 1, 2025 (BSS) - The interim government has formed the Bangladesh Dairy Development Board, which will take effect from today.

The government also declared the 'Bangladesh Dairy Development Board Act, 2023' effective from the same day.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock issued two gazette notifications on August 28, which were subsequently published in official gazettes.

The government issued the 'Bangladesh Dairy Development Board Act, 2023' on November 13, 2023 to increase the production of milk and dairy products as a balanced food, determine the quality and control, market it and manage these related matters properly.

The new Dairy Development Board will play a role in further dynamizing the country's milk production, processing, quality control and market management.

The government's goal is to increase milk production at the local level, ensure fair prices for farmers and deliver safe milk to consumers.
