BAF observes former Air Chief Khademul Bashar's martyrdom anniversary

DHAKA, Sept 01, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) observed the 49th martyrdom anniversary of former Chief of Air Staff Air Vice Marshal Muhammad Khademul Bashar, Bir Uttam, and Squadron Leader Mofijul Haque today with due dignity and solemnity.

Air Vice Marshal Khademul Bashar had the distinction of commanding the 6th Sector during the Liberation War of Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh Air Force remembers this heroic freedom fighter with due respect and honor for his glorious contribution to achieving independence and building the Air Force.

This brave pilot was martyred on September 01, 1976, in a tragic air crash, said an ISPR press release.

It may be mentioned that Squadron Leader Mofijul Haque was also martyred in the same air crash.

On this occasion, doa mahfils were arranged at the central mosques of all BAF bases and units.

A special munajat was also offered seeking divine blessings for the salvation of the departed souls and for the peace and prosperity of the country.

Senior BAF officers, airmen, and civilians attended the doa mahfils.

In addition, Bangladesh Air Force Base Bir Uttam AK Khandker organized doa and holy Quran recitation at their graveyards.
