Tougher action if DUCSU elections are disrupted: DMP Commissioner

DHAKA, Sept 1, 2025 (BSS) - Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner SM Sazzat Ali has sounded a note of warning of taking strict action against any move to disrupt the DUCSU elections.
 
“Strict action will be taken if any attempt is made to disrupt the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections,” he said.
 
He made the remarks while presiding over a coordination meeting on overall security and traffic management on the occasion of DUCSU elections-2025 held at the conference room of DMP Headquarters today.
 
The DMP Commissioner said that we are ready to provide all-out cooperation as per all the instructions given by the Election Commission in the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) elections.
 
He said that the coordinated efforts of all government agencies to make the DUCSU elections safe and smooth are very important.
 
“We will all work together to ensure a fair and peaceful election,” he said.
 
At the beginning of the coordination meeting, DMP Joint Police Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah presented the overall security plan for the election through a power point presentation.
 
After that, representatives of various organizations present in the meeting participated in an open discussion and expressed their valuable opinions.
 
DMP Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) SN Md. Nazrul Islam, Additional Police Commissioner (Logistics, Finance and Procurement) Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali, Additional Police Commissioner (CTTC) Md. Masud Karim, Additional Police Commissioner (Detective Branch) Md. Shafiqul Islam and Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Zillur Rahman, among others, were present.
