DHAKA, Sept 2, 2025 (BSS) - Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) today reduced LPG prices in line with new price adjustments by Saudi Arabia-based Aramco, which sets the contract price or CP for the natural gas liquids at the beginning of each month for term contracts.
BERC chairman Jalal Ahmed announced the reduced price of the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) filled cylinders of different capacities at a press conference.
“All LPG marketing companies will implement the new price with effect from today,” he said.
The LPG is marketed in cylinders with capacity of 5.5 KG, 12 KG, 12.5 KG,15 KG, 16 KG, 18 KG, 20 KG, 22 KG, 25 KG, 30 KG, 33 KG, 35 KG and 45 KG.
According to BERC consumer level prices of the gas-filled cylinders would from now on be Tk 582, Tk 1,270, Tk 1,323, Tk, 1,588, Tk 1694, Tk 1,906, Tk, 2,117, Tk 2,329, Tk 2,647, Tk Tk 3,176, Tk 3,494, Tk 3,705 and Tk 4,764 respectively.
The existing prices, which were effective from August 3, were Tk 584, Tk 1,273, Tk 1,326, Tk 1,592, Tk 1,698, Tk 1,910, Tk 2,122, Tk 2,334, Tk 2,653, Tk 3,183, Tk 3,502, Tk 3,714 and Tk 4,775 respectively.
According to the announcement the 12 kg cylinder, which are sold most, was reduced by Taka 3.
Ahmed said the BERC also reduced the prices of auto gas to Tk. 58.15 per litre, reducing the amount by Tk. 0.13.
The chairman said the price was re-fixed in line with the readjustment international market as Saudi Aramco has slashed the official selling prices for propane and butane for May.
The new prices are set at US$520 per tonne for propane and US$490 per tonne for butane.
