DHAKA, Sept 3, 2025 (BSS) - The government today issued a gazette merging the Public Security Division and the Security Services Division into a single unit under the Home Ministry.

The gazette issued by the Cabinet Division under the Rules of Business, 1996 (rule 3, sub-rule i)

It will immediately come into effect, according to the gazette signed by Cabinet Secretary Dr Sheikh Abdur Rashid.

From now on, all activities of the two separate divisions will be conducted under the Home Ministry.

The Home Ministry had been divided  into two divisions on January 19, 2017.
