ACC writes to IGP for issuing Interpol red notice for Hasina & Joy

DHAKA, Sept 04, 2025 (BSS)- Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has requested the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to secure an Interpol red notice for the arrest of ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina and her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy.

ACC in a letter today requested the IGP in this regard, ACC Deputy Director and Public Relations Officer Akhtarul Islam told BSS.

The letter signed by ACC Assistant Director and Investigating Officer of the case Afnan Jannat Keya said that a court has already issued a warrant of arrest against Sheikh Hasina and her son Sajib Wazed Joy in connection with a plot scam case.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Sheikh Hasina had fled away abroad from the country and her son Joy had been staying abroad since long.

For ensuring justice, the court issued the warrant to identify their location, bring them back to the country and handover them to the court of justice.

With the letter to the IGP, the ACC attached a copy of the court order, warrant, copy of the first information report (FIR), copy of the charge sheet and application to the Interpol on a prescribed form for issuing red notice.
