DHAKA, Sept 4, 2025 (BSS) - The recordings of statement and cross-examination of the state approver former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun in a case against Sheikh Hasina and two others have concluded here today.

However, the International Crimes Tribunal-1 headed by Justice Golam Mortuza Majumder, after recording the statement of the former IGP and his cross examination, has fixed September 8 for recording the statement of other witnesses of the case.

The same tribunal has already recorded the statements of 35 prosecution witnesses and cross examined them in connection with the same case.

Chief Prosecutor Mohammad Tajul Islam and Prosecutor Gazi M H Tamim moved for the state before the tribunal where the other prosecutors were also present.

On the other hand, state appointed counselor Advocate Amir Hossain moved for the fugitive accused Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal while Advocate Zayed Bin Amjad was present for the arrested former IGP who has already became a state approver in the case.

The ICT-1 on July 10 framed charges against former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and former IGP Chowdhury Mamun.

At one stage of trial of the case, the tribunal accepted a prayer of former IGP Mamun to be state approver in the case.

There are two more cases remained pending against the former prime minister with the tribunal. These cases are-one for enforced disappearances and killings during the tenure of her government and killings in the city’s Shapla Chattar at a grand rally of Hefajat-e-Islam on May 5, 2013.
