DHAKA, Sept 5, 2025 (BSS) – Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed has said Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) had set the great example of freedom of humanity, equality and justice, which nowadays are very much relevant to people.

“The prophet taught us the justice is not confined to a particular group of people, rather it is a fundamental right to the whole human kind,” he said.

The chief justice made the remarks in a message issued on the occasion of the holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the day of the birth and death of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH).

The holy Eid-e-Miladunnabi, marking the day of the birth and death of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), will be observed across Bangladesh tomorrow with due religious solemnity.

The day is very much significant to the peace-loving people, including the Muslim community, across the world. “The teaching and ideology of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) is adhereable in our religious and earthly life,” he added.

The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was a great human being, a guide to mankind, endowed with various human qualities including generosity, tolerance, honesty, and devotion, he said.

“The great examples set by the Holy Prophet (PBUH) for liberation of humanity, establishment of equality and justice are still very relevant to us today,” he said, adding that the prophet taught that justice is not limited to any particular individual, rather, it is a fundamental right of all humanity.

The chief justice said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) set many examples in his life where impartiality, courage, and moral firmness in the matter of justice were utmost importance.

“He taught us that the influence of a person's social status, wealth, or power should not be considered in ensuring justice; rather, the same law and the same justice should be ensured for all,” he said.

“So, upholding this ideal of justice by all members of the legal profession is not only a professional responsibility but also a moral obligation,” he added.

"Bangladesh is a country of many religions, languages and cultures. The Holy Prophet (PBUH) set a unique example of communal harmony, mutual tolerance and coexistence during his lifetime through the Charter of Medina. His teachings are particularly relevant to our national life. Only through the practice of mutual respect and harmony will we be able to build a peaceful, prosperous and just society”, said the chief Justice.

"On this holy day, my call to all is that by keeping in our hearts the humanitarian teachings and ideals of justice of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), we will avoid all forms of discrimination, injustice and hatred and will make the utmost efforts from our respective positions to establish social justice”, he added.
