DHAKA, Sept 7, 2025 (BSS) - Election Commissioner Md Anwarul Islam Sarker today said that the overall environment for holding the 13th national election is fully favorable.

"We think that the environment for holding the election is 100 percent in favor. So far, we don't see any unfavorable situation," he told reporters at the Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon area.

In response to a question regarding any uncertainty over the upcoming election, the Election Commissioner said, "The Commission does not think so... We have already announced our roadmap."

Regarding the amendment to the Representation of the People Order 1972, Anwarul Islam said, "The proposal we have made will be finalised only after the vetting of the Law Ministry. The reason for sending it to the Law Ministry is to check whether there is any conflict with other laws, whether it conflicts with the Constitution, or whether there is any conflict with various existing provisions. They will approve it after verifying all these."

Regarding the discussions with stakeholders, he said, "The roadmap stated that discussions will begin by the end of this month. We hope that a final decision will be made in this regard at the next commission meeting."
