DHAKA, Sept 07, 2025 (BSS) - Social Welfare and Women and Children Affairs Adviser Sharmin S Murshid today expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of prominent writer, researcher and leftist intellectual Badruddin Umar.

In a message of condolence, she said, “Badruddin Umar is an important name in the cultural and political arena of Bangladesh. He was not just a writer, but a theoretical thinker who gave deep thoughts and analytical writings on nationalism, communalism and cultural uniqueness of Bangladesh.”

Sharmin S Murshid prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
