SYLHET, Sept 7, 2025 (BSS) – Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant on Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb today said that the youth will guide the way in formulating various government policies through their innovative skills and creativity.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the final round of the national policy competition titled “Fourth Industrial Revolution: Bangladesh's Innovation Potential and Application Fields”, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), according to a PID release.

Highlighting the importance of policy-oriented competitions, the Special Assistant said such initiatives spark hope for the country.

He emphasized the need for greater youth involvement in policy formulation, saying that young people can adapt swiftly to the dynamic transformation of information technology. This transformation must be integrated with policy-making, he added.

Taiyeb noted that the victory of the youngest competitors from the university in this competition proves that the future leadership of the country is in capable hands.

Those who are interested in startups should have their ventures incorporated into academic credit, and various facilities, including enhanced connectivity, should be provided for them, he opined.

Addressing challenges in policy implementation, he said that executing policy within the framework of the country’s legal guidelines is a major challenge.

He stressed that the policy proposals presented by the youth should be validated through both qualitative and quantitative surveys at the citizen level to ensure their effectiveness.

At the end of the competition, Fayez Ahmad Taiyeb handed over medals, crests, and monetary awards to the winners.

Five teams of the university participated in the final round of the competition.

With Vice-Chancellor of SUST Professor Dr. A. M. Sarwaruddin Chowdhury in the chair, Youth and Sports Secretary Md Mahbub-Ul-Alam, Pro-Vice Chancellor of SUST Professor Dr Md Shajedul Karim, Treasurer
Professor Dr. Md. Ismail Hossain, and Independent Director of Startup Bangladesh Tanvir Ali were present as guests.
