RAJSHAHI, Sept 8, 2025 (BSS) - Attorney General (AG) Md Asaduzzaman today emphasized that only those involved in crimes would be brought to justice, not ordinary citizens, aligning with the wish of the peace-loving public.

"We will bring the offenders under trial, not any person, as the people of the country unanimously want justice," he said while addressing the final phase of the National Policy Competition-2025 at Rajshahi University (RU) as the chief guest.

The Ministry of Youth and Sports as part of its 'Tarunner Utsab' organized the event at RU Senate Bhaban.

AG Asaduzzaman stressed that the Constitution reflects the aspirations of the people. "As a citizen, I want to live in Bangladesh with justice, the right to speak and write freely and in a society free of discrimination," he said.

He said utmost emphasis is being given on ensuring proper services in proper time without any partiality.

Referring to the July revolution, the AG noted that the movement aimed to transform Bangladesh by ousting the fascist regime. "At present, we are witnessing a variety of opinions and receiving numerous proposals in the name of reformation," he added.

With RU Vice-chancellor Prof Saleh Hassan Naquib in the chair, the meeting was addressed, among others, by Member of Constitution Reform Commission Prof Ekramul Haque, RU Pro-VC Prof Farid Uddin Khan and Joint Secretary to the Youth and Sports Ministry Dr Sheikh Muhammad Zobayed Hossain.

RU had elected five teams namely Deepshikha, Torchlight, Gyanbistar, Changemaker and Avijatri for the National Policy Competition.

In today's competition, Torchlight clinched the top position, while Deepshikka became the first runner-up and Changemaker the third.

The chief guest distributed medals, crests and prizes among the winning teams.
